NON DOT Drug Testing
Service Description
Non-DOT drug testing refers to drug and alcohol testing conducted outside of the regulations set by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Unlike DOT drug testing, which is required for safety-sensitive positions in transportation and regulated industries, non-DOT testing is not governed by federal regulations but rather by company policies, state laws, or other non-federal guidelines. Purpose: Employment Screening: Evaluate the drug use history of potential employees as part of the hiring process. Random Testing: Conduct periodic, unannounced tests on current employees to ensure ongoing compliance with company policies. Post-Accident Testing: Test individuals involved in workplace accidents or incidents, even if not in safety-sensitive positions. Reasonable Suspicion Testing: Test employees if there is a reasonable belief that they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol while at work. Return-to-Duty Testing: Ensure that employees returning from a drug or alcohol-related leave are fit for duty.
